We just tried to buy a GMC Acadia for my wife. Needed one with a tow package and there were none in the area and only a few within 250 miles. Pretty bad when your ready to drop some decent coin on a new car and cant even do it.

I have a Silverado (white, lol) that the lease is up on in a month. May have to extend my lease to give enough time to find another one.

I saw a ‘21 Tahoe Z71 today in the wild. Wonder what he paid for it?

We have a Scag Saber Tooth Tiger (no longer produced) with a 31 hp Dihatsu (Toyota) 3 cylinder gas engine (water cooled) that has 1300+ hours on it. I thought I killed it last year as I accidentally drove over a 2" diameter steel pipe filled with concrete at my inlaws home. Went ahead and bought an Exmark Lazer Z 72" 31hp Kawasaki gas and the floating platform operator station since I thought the Scag was dead. I ended up repairing the Scag, took a spindle and a blade, if you can believe that. I thought it was toast. Now Jodie and I mow the 13 acres of grass together and it takes 1/2 the time with me alone.

Quite honestly, I really like the Exmark but that Scag is a beast. Problem is the dealer for the Scag went out of business in my area or I would probably have another. You must look at the dealer too. The Scag's are the best mower I've ever owned and I've owned most all. Puts JD to shame.

When I was looking for my Z, I came down to Cub, or Scag. Both were sold by my local Kubota dealer. I would have bought from them on the Cub, or Scag just because as a customer I would have gotten a better chance for service. Could have bought the "same" cub at HD and gotten my 10% vets discount, but it would not have been worth it to me cause if I had a problem.........

Something to remember is that working from home / distancing has had a noticable effect on demand for certain items, and low interest rates have also added to demand, while production is off (depending) due to COVID.
Housing -- hot! people been saving since the recession, buying now, sick of looking at the dumps they are in.
Boats -- hot! great for social distancing, fuel prices down too.
R/Vs-- hot! Safe way to travel over the summer, fuel prices down.
Pants -- not hot. don't need pants on zoom meetings. (seriously -- Walmart says pants sales suck.)
    Lawn Tractors -- hot!

Same with plumbing supplies, the stuff we stock in our van's is mostly pretty good quality, the same brand stuff at the big box stores is mostly garbage, same brand, looks the same but is not.

IMO John Deere started putting its name on POS equipment that is sold at various places.

The real tractors from the old days are bulletproof. I have a little 650 diesel. It is a bad ass little dude.

Just had this convo with a customer when he mentioned he was going to Wall World to buy a new set of Goodyear tires. He didnt believe they were made with cheaper materials spec'd by WM to get the lower price. Same with many electronics.

If you would have read the next sentence of the OP's post, it read he was trying to source one from lowes or home depot.

We've got 4 in. I was really surprised that they are "only" in the low 60k range.... really nice but once again GM decided to do this with the "shifter" and driving anything with a set up like this is infinitely annoying to me. I can just imagine being stuck in the mud or snow and instead of the angry and satisfying back and forth on the old column shifter, I have to pull two stupid little buttons in succession repeatedly and wait for the thing to engage the gear.

Oh and it took all of 2 days on the lot before their first recall was issued.

Yeah, I hate the push-button parking brake and the fact you can'y pull up the door locks with your fingers.

I had my ‘07 stuck in the mud once, and even with the column shifter the computer kept ‘managing’ the power so I couldn’t really rock it. May have saved the trans, but needed a friend with a rope to get it out.

Oh, no-electric parking brake? I’m not sure I need or want that. (My Durango won’t let you back up with the driver door open among other ‘nanny features’.)

I agree. My 1974 International Harvester Cub Cadet 1450 is bulletproof unlike the new Chinese Cub Cadets.

I've has the same problem finding the model grill I'm looking for, the Nat Gas version. Everyone is saying 6-12 weeks. Looks like I'm waiting for next spring.

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I just bought a John Deere E-140 about two weeks ago. The local Lowes store had one that someone drove for 1 hour and returned for a zero turn and they knocked $400 off the price and with the lowes card if you use it you get a extra 5% off. Seemed like a good deal and I needed a mower so I got it. I really didnt know much about the mower but figured it would be good enough for doing my yard.

I work mine very hard. I don't want to fool around with a used unit.
Someone (Thank you) posted ads for several of the E-140 but two would involve expensive shipping, thge other would involve a 500-mile out and back trip. The carburetor involves (if I can believe the dealer) $175 and a wait until Tuesday the 4th. I'll wait, but by not having one in stock in SW Florida, John Deere will sell one less garden tractor then it could have this year.
