i have a **** load of nos parts, but lost what they are all for

  1. is there any way to look up the numbers from items and see what they are from?
    any sit out there?

    They have a master parts manual I believe. I have seen them online for sale.

    I have been moving 25 years of accumulation, running into parts I forgot about. Found Google and Rockauto.com to be useful in figuring out what they are.

  6. thanks guys. i tried googel, i might be a wizard at not doing things right on a computer, but i am trying, so much stuff i have from 30 plus years of buying things in bulk just to get the few pieces i wanted, its time to move it all on

    I've found doing a part number search on eBay helpful too. Lot of guys selling old stuff by part number/description on there.

    Many times I just type in the part number and get a hit--not always, but it is a good and easy first start. After that, the guys have lots of suggestions above.

    Funny thing, many times in the past looking for rare parts--not any more--I would in fact find one once I got the part number. The old days!

    There is some ryhme and reason on the number system. Group number also narrows it down to what it is. Application listing is a little harder figure out though.
