Folks -- I wonder where I can find these in Chrome and black phosphate. I'm not obsessed with them being 100% identical but close would be great -- also curious what they call this type of head?? These are from my 68 Wildcat Conv -- they hold some of the interior trim above the sun visors (chrome) and are used under some of the exterior molding rubber moldings on the a-pillar (Black phosphate).
They are called washer head screws. The chrome ones are like some wheel molding screws. The black ones I don't think they make anymore, but they make something similar with a head that's a bit more raised. That's what I used on my 'vert. I'll look for a link.
This is not the place I got mine from. I forget if they are #6 or #8. Forget about the BMW listing, screws are screws. They have chrome, too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Black-...del:X6&hash=item4b702cbbaa:g:LUcAAOSw9~5ZSBjo
thanks so much Frank @mrolds69 ... I normally don't have issues finding this kind of stuff but I was not finding them -- the right name was key!
The local True Value stocks chrome looking screws like the black ones on that BMW site. Might be worth a trip to the harware store. I used them to install my wheel well moldings a few years ago, and they still look great.
Thanks @64 skylark mike I spotted some locally and some Stainless on the web... The depot and lowes also sell them... the power of having the proper name for the search!!
Here's what I got online, 6 cents each stainless. http://www.uturnfasteners.com/8-x-1...HmS16y7H3ZNnuZhp11h34c49AQzrs2dRoCB5EQAvD_BwE thanks again @mrolds69 As always, appreciate all the help from folks here on the board.
You're welcome! Stuff like that I just buy 50-199 piece boxes off the net. You will run into a need for them again. The SH sucks, so you might as well buy a bunch.
