My first time down the 1/4 I know it’s got 12s in it as I eased off the line I will hit it harder next time what do you guys think? FD6CFDE4-EAA9-4BBD-8D58-BA36EB5F7D0A.jpeg 6B49AF51-2C48-44AB-A789-E6C90BF26C12.jpeg

    Nice!

99 mph on a 13.1 seems a little low (I was doing 13.4's and .5's at 99/100, consistently in my 71 GS455, with 1.85 60 ft times). Were you lifting a little early or running it through the end? Or could it be running out of fuel on the top end?

Racing is more addictive and expensive than crack. U did good for your first time out. There is an app you can get on your phone to practice the tree and improve your R/T. Called jegs perfect start.

Those are almost exactly the numbers my dad's 72 would run. Mild 455 with 4.11s and it'd just dip into the 12s with a full interior. Welcome to the 1/4 mile club!

3rd gear was weird. I felt it shift to third but it quit accelating as hard. It wasn’t starving for fuel as the engine was revving hard. I eased for for a moment n back to the floor and it was better. My launch wasn’t great either. I’ll launch it much harder next time. I think Briz freaked me out with his destroyed rear end story. Lol

Th400? Anything done to the trans?

What kind of tires were you using?

Yes TH 400 with 2500 stall and shift kit. 275/60-15 drag radials. I didn’t notice any tire slip but I was kinda nervous.

Just lose a little weight and you'll be there. Could be the spare tire and jack. Run with 1/4 tank of fuel. Don't eat that box of donuts for breakfast. I remember when my car was running 12.05 to 12.02 all day at the 100th Anniversary of Buick. I finally let the car sit for about 1/2 hour then made my last pass of the day before they closed the track: 11.99 at like 110 mph. What a rush.

Was this originally a th350 car? if so do you have 12v going to the kick down plug when its floored? Also, is it a cheap off the shelf converter like say $300 or less? With the buick torque you could be pushing through the converter on top end.

What rear gear? What was your rpm through the traps? A 275/60/15 is 28” tall. You might try a shorter tire to raise the rpm some.

A 350 with a some upgrade can do what a th400 does now right? I've read some goo things about the the 36 element sprag
