To Chris, Roy and CTC Ranch

Chris sold me a pristine 61 Bumper, Roy sold me beautiful taillights and CTC Ranch came through with trim bits, hinges and a few other bits and bobs.

All my parts are here now and repairs start in 2 weeks.

    Here's the funny part.

Panel shop costs to fix the damage = AUD $7200
Cost of all parts plus shipping landed in Australia with all customs fees etc and exchange rate = $6800 AUD

But hey, not my insurance paying for it :)

How much were the parts and how much was the shipping, customs, etc? That shipper they used had to be expensive.

    Note that 6800 AUD = $4,700 USD

Chris, just the bumper alone cost US$2900 to ship. I got hit with over US$500 of customs fees on arrival in Australia, crating it up etc was just over US$400 and the actual shipping from the US was like $1900 something...all other shipping costs were the other parts.

John, no pics yet. Doesn't go to repair for 2 weeks. We waited for all parts to arrive (final part arrived earlier this week). And he has no room in his shop for 2 weeks.

Car has still been driven every day, even though so looking crash hot. Repairer has agreed to fix up a few door dings and a bit of lower door rust for me at the same time, so it should come back in tip top shape
