Your GSX has much better looking wheels than your dream GSX...

So John... while you were dreaming, did you use a torch or a hacksaw on the springs? You cut 'em twice and theyre still too short! Between you an me, youre car would to a better job of giving a kid a wet dream where that other thing looks like sloppy seconds. Hmmm AND VOLVO BUCKET SEATS IN IT??? (look at the headrests...???? ) OY GEVALT! Do I need to take a vacation next winter and come down to........ ws

Yes even "they ain't frum round here"seats , lowering my standards the longer I can't get this roachmobile going, need usable cylinder heads (previous owner failed to mention he cracked a mount off of these). I don't know how the heck to mount these NPD bucket seat brackets (like zero instructions) cant mount my rusted super scavengers on with busted cylinder ear, need to finish a-arms (after I fix pressure washer) I need to do the drums to disc brakes but no one has been able to tell me what this 1970 brake valve blocks purpose is and whether mine is any good and on and on it goes with no covered work space, crazy weather blah blah blah lol

One of your Stage 1 heads has a busted (missing) ear? Are they 71 heads? If so, they may be my old heads and I still have the missing piece of the ear! But welding cast iron is not easy. Did you get the heads from someone in NC? That is where my heads went...

Welding that head would be simple if you have the detached piece. Prep it, heat it with a manifold bolted in place, and weld it with a DC welder and a stainless steel rod. Any weldor worth his beans should be able to do it! Have you considered one of those car tents from Harbor Fright? At least that would getcha into the shade.

The valve you need is a disc brake proportioning valve, probably $50 from any parts store and some tubing. Get that guy streetable then worry about the small stuff. You sound a little overwhelmed! Dont give up the ship! Go on CL and get a kid to help like the young guy from here that needs a start. Maybe a letter to his shop teacher about extra credit could put him on his way. Heck, maybe even use it as a class project. Any local trade/high schools around with auto tech classes?

Sometimes I feel like the next stop is the oven and ill make a shitty loaf of bread LOL... Do I need to make a road trip with a trailer? ws

I have yet to turn the wheel over yet me hearty!Har Har!.......wellllll actually doesn't have the steering column OR wheel in it either! Haha
I tried the Craigslist ad but there don't seem to be any local kids wanting to learn and earn. Good suggestion on class credit ,I think they offer some kind of NASCAR mechanic classes down the road at the community college, might be worth going and speaking to the teacher.
I want 70 S1 heads on it anyway but gonna have to sacrifice other "non essential " parts I recently bought for the engine so I can at LEAST get this thing running. Wish all the local friends I have helped were as fast to offer help as y'all are! They tend to have a VERY selective memory ("Fritz has time he wasn't doing anything anyway" yeh, thanks a lot pal).
Well, gotta go put stuff up for sale around the net. As always thanks for sharing your considerable knowledge & pep talk : )

That doesn't look like the same ear that I broke off (Yes, I'm the one who did it!). That one looks like it is on an end cylinder and the one I broke off was on a middle cylinder.

One day a Buick will not be judged by the quality of its paint job but by the content of its' horsepower. Get to the Mountain Top John!!! Taking Pat for a double carpal tunnel job right now. Need to chat? PM me is best while she rests post op... ws
