So tell me, how rare is this part. Its on my 68 Sportwagon and I have never seen it on another sportwagon. Is it just me or did this just not make it on many of the cars.

    itpphoto What just happened ?

It's the air deflector to keep the rear window clean. You don't see them too often.

Im not sure about the 70's, but in 68/69 the air delfector was an option SEPERATE from the optional roof rack.

Rare option on a 68-69 and the one you have is 100% correct. The 68-69 with a roof rack was attached to the rack it self and the stainless strips just sat on the roor and were not held by weld nut, AL.

I have one on my 65 Sportwagon. It's all alluminum. I don't have the rack. Anyone know where I could find rear taillight lenses & the bracket in the front of the core support connecting to the hood latch?

Parts cars or someone parting one out.

The hood latch thing should be the same for skylarks/specials - not wagon specific

The tail light lenses are buick wagon specific. There is a "Parts wanted" section of the board - put a new post in there.

...also there is a Yahoo special interest group for the SportWagons and VistaCruisers and often they post parts for sale.

So, I've got a question for anyone with one of these spoilers - does it help keep exhaust out of the car with the rear window down? Holy cow my Sport loves to suck fumes in the rear and I've got the stock single side exhaust. It would be nice to have the extra ventilation without fumigation!

Yes that one of the reasons for it, especialy if you had a rear seat.

Which side tail light do you need? Do you also need the defuser that goes in back of the lense?
