I'm getting ready to put in my posi in the Riviera, and was wondering how much lap was required? I'm so close to : :3gears: I don't want to mess anything up!
lap dog If you are ONLY changing the OPEN carrier to a POSI unit and reusing the SAME ring gear. (1) Check ring gear backlash BEFORE you remove your existing OPEN carrier. (2) Set ring gear backlash to the SAME spec. when reinstalling the POSI carrier. (3) You may have to use adjustable shims to correct. (4) This only applies to in / out carrier changes. Finding someone experienced might help if you are doing a more involved swap. MY .02
