Hey its my car!!??? I wouldn't take less than 12-15. Its a beautiful clean car, you can't build it for that. As far as people not liking green, people say they love the color of my car, very retro.. but to each is own. Hope everything goes well with your dad.
P.s. throw a set of raised white lettered tires on it. Will change the whole look of the car

So much hate on the SBB. At least it isn't a SBC transplant. While I love the green I can see others not. personal preferance I guess. I would guess around 10-12K I would love to have it in my drive way but no $$$$ to play with.

I think the whitewalls look great Scott, leave them on. Just needs power brakes and an engine compartment detail and its ready to go!

Nice ride! The fact that it is unmolested makes it a blank slate. An option many underestimate. The buyer can make it look anyway s/he wants it to look. it. A hearty bump to your sale!

I wouldn't call it hate on the small block, but lets face it, big blocks bring more money and are more desireable

Nice car. It's a shame someone in your family doesn't love it. I like the color combo (white walls and all) because its how they looked back in the day. Small block GS and few options = 10k, assuming very little or no rust and it all works properly. The market is just low.

Very sharp car. I like the color. I would guess it will sell for 8K or so.

Bob, that motor you have would look real good in that green car... :3gears:

  10. I'd keep it exactly as it sits and enjoy it

It's not just low, it's imploding. I saw many cars not selling at all or well below what I thought was market at Mecum Dallas. Check out this recent H/O sale, sold @ 40k and estimated 75-100K

How about a near flawless (hate the wheels) factory Hemi four speed Roadrunner bid only to 60k

Thank you all for your input on pricing. I saw my mom today & talk about selling the car, she had tears. I told her to let me know when she ready. She has had the car since 1974.

This car needs to stay the way it is. A low options GS may not be desirable to everybody, but I like it just the way it is. If/when she decides to sell, please let me know. I'd be interested.

The market is in the toilet. There is a glut of musclecars for sale right now that have been for sale for months, and when I say MONTHS,I mean closer to a year, some more. The over inflated market has crashed, and prices are still adjusting down to the NEW normal, or going rate. Prices are down to about where they were in the late 90's/early 2000's. That is the new normal, and what the market will bear. The days of easy money are over, more important to have food on the table, than some over priced Hulk gobbling up garage space. I feel bad for those who HAVE to sell to make ends meet, as many of these people bought in "high", and are going to have to sell "low". It's a buyer's market, and will be for quite a while.
Want a 70 Chevelle SS? you can literally pick an exterior color, pick interior color, and engine option you want, and name your price, almost like buying a new car. There are THAT many cars for sale right now. Look at all the auction results, the sales are down way below last years average sale prices.
The only cars selling at or over average prices, are a stroke of luck, dumb luck that is, where two fools with a little money get into a bidding war over a certain car/color/driveline,etc.

You guys are funny . Many record sales set this weekend . GOOD cars always bring coin. Do they all look nice when you're at home watching tv ? Sure . You can't make an accurate evaluation that way .
All the top restorers have literal YEARS of waiting list . Several I spoke to have more work then last 30 years . Does that tell you there is any downturn ?

I once had the GS455 equivalent of the GS350. Love the lime and white!

Not funny, just honest, and accurate:Smarty:
Pick up a copy of Hemmings,Auto-Rv Trader,Auto Trader, etc. Get on Craigslist or advertising place of choice.
Same cars are in there month after month, price reduction after price reduction, ebay auctions end at a no sale, either starting bid too high,Buy it now too high, reserve and expectations too high.
Bottom line, lot's of stuff sitting for sale with no buyer, or no buyer at 2007 prices:Smarty:

Premium quality, ultra rare/desirable cars will always go for more money to the heavy hitters(Rich People), but those cars are out of reach for the average Joe.
I can perform about 99% of the work myself restoring a car, got a buddy at PUI interiors(get his discount), have a friend who is a paint rep(and my painter, the 1% I don't do) he gets me paint/materials at his cost, and I can't afford to restore a car anymore. You get upside down way too quick. Your much further ahead buying a done car, especially at todays discounted market crash prices.
There are only a few cars that a person could break even or make money on after the restoration, and I can't afford the price of admission for those type of cars. Those are the type you pay 15-20-25K for a pile of crap resto project that once had a Hemi, or LS-6, or something else rare and desirable.
The Meat and Potato SS396, non Stage GS's, etc. aren't worth what you have into them after restoring. BUY ONE DONE!!!
