    gotbuick What, me worry?

Maybe this isn't the correct term. I'd like to stick a 10" rim on the back of my 70. How much back spacing do I need?
Will I have to notch(?) the frame?
What is the largest tire, say BFG Drag Radial or(?), that will fit under these cars without tooooo much hacking?:Do No:
    Thanks...

I am just finishing up my '72 and I have 15x10 Welds with 5 1/2" backspacing. I am using 29.5x10.5 slicks. The only modification I had to do was remove the lip on the quarter panel. The inside (wheelhouse side) cleared great. Just my experience. Have fun.

I have Weld Pro Stars 15x10 with a 5.5 inch backspacing, BFG Drag radials in 325x60-15-had to "roll" the outer fender lips up flat against the inner quarter, gently hammer the iner wheel house front and rear and use a 1/8" spacer on the right side to get the tire centered. it is close and they will rub on the inside on corners-not a road race combo by any stretch but boy do they attract attention! nobody who looks under the back of the car can believe there isnt at least mini tubs. hooks very well too, but i dont have a big horsepower engine either. best short time is 1.80.

caring about orginality here as i plan to add a 8 point 'cage this year i just would like to keep a rear seat for my friends and i to cruise !! lol going for street and strip here wish i could afford a full blown tub job but that means no rear seat!!

It's possible to keep the rear seat, you just may need to re-arrange the wire frame if it gets in the way. You may even be able to move the rear seat forward an inch or two.

we added two inches to the stock wheelwells and the rr. seat went back in like stock....can't even tell when viewed from the trunk.
Mostly did this to lower the car and not have the tires rub.
Use the smallest tire you can, because after the 330' those big tires are just dead weight.
