How do I hook up the horn contact on a rallye 3-spoke wheel?

I got a complete rallye wheel setup for my 70 GS. I got off the old granny wheel and removed the two wires and clips that work the horn. I have the new wheel on and a connector kit from GM with a small plastic clip, a post and spring. How do I hook this up? Do I need the wire setup from the old steering wheel or do I just put the spring and post in the hole where the wires were? What would be the order if that's how it goes? Thanks. Phil

I'm in the same boat and here's what I've learned so far: You'll need nothing from the granny wheel, but the kit you mentioned will be inserted into the white/yellow horn contact hole in the steering column, after which the "L" part of the horn contact button will go into the hole. Then screw on the horn contact button to wheel, then pop on the horn buton and you're in business.
Now a return question...can you please tell me where you got the "kit" for the horn button mounting (spring, insulator, etc) as I've got all I need except that and without it I'm out of luck and can't mount wheel. Thanks...Matt:grin:

I got mine from the guy that sold me the wheel. Supposedly it's still available from GM. I'll see if I can dig the bag out of the trash and get you the part number. By the way, the spring goes in first, then the "pin" flared end in first, then the plastic insulator on top.

OK, found the bag. The GM part # is #0047102. Description on the bag is "contact". The YearOne part # is #4535N. I was told it's only about $5 or so.
