Anyone on the board a expert with Holly Carb's ??? I have a few Holly carbs and I am unsure of what I should run on my 350. I need to run a Holly to be correct for my car so if I don't have the right one maybe someone can tell me what I should look for.

    Stat's :
    1971 350 stock bottom end.
1970 heads mild port work done.
TA performance aluminum intake Stage 1(dual plane)
Crower cam (See cam card pic)
    9.78 to 1 compression
    Hooker super comp headers
    2400 stall
    shift kit
3:08 rear gear to be put in later on (Current gear is 4:56)

Maybe an 0- 3310? That's the old school, square flange 750 vacuum secondary. Aftermarket intake? Can it accept a square flange?

Jason, Yes I have a TA intake (I added it in after you posted) I also have three carbs 6211 , 3310-2 , 6210-3 currently but I was told by Holly help like that the change in gear and a few other things that the 650 I have will be way to much carb for my motor but I trust Buick guys a bit more than a help line lol.

The 3310 you have looks like a oldie. Its got the metal vacuum secondary housing. The new ones are plastic now:rolleyes:. The 6210 and 6211 are considered Holley "replacement carbs". The 6210 is a small block Chevy application.

If it were me, I'd go the 750 vacuum secondary route. Probably be better with the switch to 3.08's. But lets see what others have to say. With any Holley, its not exactly a "plug and play" carb. You'll have to dial it in to your engine. Ive had my new Quickfuel 950 apart 3 times for jet and air bleed changes already and I think it will have to come apart one more time. This is where a wideband O2 comes in handy.

I'd use a 650 DP,..it will have great throttle response and midrange

Which one do you have, the SP3(single plane) or the Stage 1(dual plane)?

I have the Stage 1(dual plane)

Jason, This is why I really don't really want to run the Holly. I always found the original quadrajet carburetors ran great and I never had to "Dial them in".

I agree! That's really just the way Holley performance carbs are. The calibration is usually in the ball park but they all need fine tuning to some degree.

That 6210 is nice carb, double pumper with very small primaries I had one on a sbc that ran like fuel injection

IF you decide to run a Holley instead of a Q-Jet, use a Holley double pumper (mechanical secondaries)
I ran a Holley 750 Vacuum secondary carb on my 350 GS for years because that's what was recommended, "Holley double pumpers are for race cars"
When I swapped My original Q-Jet back on after Ken from Everyday Performance fixed 'er up, I picked up .4 in the quarter mile over the vac secondary Holley.
The Q-Jet IS a mechanical secondary carb, WITH an air valve, it WILL blow away any Holley vacuum secondary carb:cool:

I rebuilt and ran several different Holley carbs ( 500 2bbl up to a 750DP ) on my truck to give them a short test drive . Truck is a 84 Dodge 360 2wd , stock w/headers and performer intake . Actually ran a 650 sreadbore vac sec version one summer ran great , the 750 Edelbrock and Holley's seemed like a little bit more than needed , the 600's weren't quite enough . Right now have a Edelbrock 650 avs carb on there - good .
If you need a cruiser carb I'd say the 650 , if you are going to kick it in the fanny once in awhile then 750 . The SBB seems to like a little bit more cfm .
The well prepared QJet choice is a good one . Ken did my 800 , sitting for a year , started it Friday , easy start , crisp .

Couple things , if you go with the Holley 750 and rebuild it consider trashing the stock vac sec and using an adjustable unit . Check a quick fuel #63-11 I think it is , $24 at summit . And on either carb choice get back to me on kit choice's etc if needed . You can save a few bucks there . It will cost you about $50 either carb , including the QF adjustable vac for the 750 .
edit : just reread first post - 4:56 gears , yikes , fun ! sure - 750 for those . one thing about the #3310 - inexpensive carb , lots of 'em out there , basic parts , since you already have it maybe try it and see how it goes . pay attention to your vac sec spring opening rate .
and , likin' the avatar paint job !

    alec296 i need another buick

I would say the quadrajet would be better for street, depending on who builds it. A stock 71 bottom end wont have 9.7 compression without a piston change. 70-71 heads about equal.
Cam isnt big , lists for 1.6 rockers. A 650 would probably be fine. Tune is important. Consider an air/fuel meter.
