anybody had any experience with the holley throttle body injection onv8 buick would like to know how it performes compared to carb o No: o No:
I ran one of the early ProJection models for several years. Drivability was probably better than any carb I ever tried, however I also bet that I was losing a few tenths in the 1/4 mile. When I upgraded from the Holley TBI to a full-blown port injection system, I gained 1/2 second on my first run. -Bob Cunningham
ive always ran holley carbs over quads on my buicks , yet id sure like to try a tbi .i know a couple guys that have retro'd a tbi set up on chevy's. iv e got thier 670cfm tbi replacement on my '89 silverado 5.7 . over the stock unit ( i believe is what 390 cfm )it was a dramatic difference .i trimed the spacer and i took the intake off and bored it out .with the 2 1/8 " , (where the stock are 1 5/8 "),throttle bores you know when they open , added a lot more torque . it may be rough for a 455 , yet being smaller cfm's top end hp might be compromised . now if ya could run two 670 ' s or even 2 stock units on a dual quad offenhauser ? :Brow: the one thing i really like with the holley over the rochester is the holley has an idle speed screw . i also have a helix throttle body spacer, a cheap air intake kit from ebay and an accell coil . runs great , i want to get headers soon , i cut out the cat , and ive got a 3 " head pipe and glasspack , the dual 2 1/4 tails
