I'm looking for a carb for my 455 rebuild, I'm thinking holley 950cfm 4150. Will this easily bolt on to my edelbrock b4b? Also, how easy/hard are these carbs to tune?

If you have a Q-jet opening, then you need the thin square bore adapter plate to avoid a common vacuum leak. That's about it. Holleys are relatively easy to tune. My preference is a Q-jet for a street car, but it has to be built for, and calibrated to your engine.

I agree with Larry, haha (of course) about the proper built quadrajet being a great carb for street. If you still go Holley, then the 950 is nice, but may still need some changes to work the best. I used different metering blocks, no rear power valve, changed jets, and rear jet extensions to name a few.

Thanks for the advice. This adaptor plate, any ideas on a part number or name?

ive finally got the carb in the mail (holley 4150 hp, 950cfm) and ready to bolt it up. i have a throttle cable bracket from an old intake, but it doesnt fit on my edelbrock b4b intake. any suggestions? also, the throttle cable seems to be too long. the car was a 6 cylinder originally, so i think that's the problem. any tips on adjusting/cutting the cable to make it fit better? thanks guys

    The AED 6600. http://www.aedperformance.com/Billet.htm

Your GM cable snaps right into it. It features an adjustment for the cable length and WOT, and it has an integral double return spring set up. It solves all the problems, and it's pretty too.

I've got a rad hose question. Where do i run the hose from the smaller outlets on the timing cover, and the thermostat housing to? Thanks!

There is a "L" shaped bypass hose that goes from the T stat to the outlet on the timing cover. The other outlet goes to the heater core
