Morning all. I am looking for a Hollander Interchange Manual for my 69 Skylark Convertible. The problem is, I don't know anything about these manuals. (How they work, what version to buy.) Should I get a brand new one, or should I search for an original 1969 manual on eBay or somewhere else online? I already have the 64-70 Buick Interchange Manual.

I saw these online for purchase, do they seem like good buys?

Don't see a need for a Hollander's manual since you have all the info you need here. I would suggest you get the factory shop manual.

Only parts that interchange on the Skylark are from other A-bodies....Chevelle, Lemans, Cutlass, and some from 69-72 Grand Prix and 70-2 Monte Carlo.

GStage1, I just got a repro shop manual. Won't the interchange manual be of use with all of the other A bodies? Wouldn't it make sense to own a book like this so I would not have to ask TOO many questions on this board? :Brow:

So, can you help me? What would be the best interchange manual to get? A new one or a manual that was issued in 1969?

    Thanks for your help.

Nah, I would just ask questions here.

Get an original shop manual for your car. It is the best.
I think they are available on CD now too.

So, the consenus is that there is no need for an interchange manual as long as this board exists? You guys are too funny. :)

Seriously, I DO want to get an interchange manual. I need help in deciding which one to get. Either way, I will still be asking plenty of questions on this board...and like 71GS455 said...I could be the guy who answers all of the questions for others.

So, come on now, what manual should I get??? Be specific please!

69GS400s, et al. I already have the 69 chassis service manual. Now I may be a bit obtuse, but I believe my original question is legit... and has not been answered.

We all know that Buick parts can be hard to come by and some Buick parts can be interchanged with Pontiac/Olds/Chevy parts.

So... that said... what interchange manual from Hollander should I get? Thanks again.

You don't need an interchange manual because all you need to know is the following (which interchange among A-bodies):

    1. Rolling chassis, basically all are the same. So, you can put any A-body chassis under any A-body.

    2. Body wise, only seats, window handles, door handles, windlace, ashtrays, glass, cowl, steering column etc will interchange....basically odds and ends

    3. Among 70-2 models, only the trunk lid will interchange among the 70-2 Monte Carlo and 68-72 Chevelle.

    4. Power options will also interchange such as pdl, pbench, pbucket, ps, pb, pw, ptrunk, cruise (indicator and turn signal stalks are unique to each brand)

That's all you need to know. If in doubt, just ask here.
