I share your sentiments. Thanks! As long as we can all manage to get along or at least agree to disagree and keep our facts straight, all's well. This website is a goldmine of information and is crammed to the brim with outstanding people with incredible knowledge.
Gary...I will second that. When I was in High school, in Auto shop...they were working on Chevy's,Oldsmobiles, Ford's and Pontiac's...but I remember the 1974 Buick Electra...(BIG CAR) it had a 455-4V/ I didn't think much of a V8 with the distributor in the front. Didn't hear much about Buick, until the guy on 135th St. that had a Blue Buick GS Stage 1 with a white top. That Car, kicked a**,and took names. I was hooked. Then I saw another 70 GS STAGE 1 at Aquasco Speedway.( long since closed) where that one ran hi-11's. There was my intro to Buicks.
That's why I refer to my V8Buick encyclopedias...I like the history of what Y'all are doing...even if it is a recent thread.I have plenty of empty binders... Mr.Jay B.Britt,Jr.
There's NO WAY a book can be as UP TO DATE as this site. Things change on a daily basis as new recipes & R&D are performed. A book can NEVER be as up to date.
I would write the book now and forget about the heads since that will take at least another year by time they are bought and put on car and dynode. Most people may not want to go with that much performance and may just need some procedures on basic building the engine combining parts together, getting some porting and showing those results. The book does not have to wait for the maxed out motor to be in there. There is already a lot of information people want to know and those people are not on this website. they are looking for a book on this car they just bought (Buick with a 350) and they want to hot rod it. But, can't find a book on what to do. ....
