    Hi Guys,

my name is Klaus, and I living in a small town in the south of Germany called Untermünkheim.
Since June, I'm the proud owner of an 1967 Buick Riviera.
Unfortunately, in Germany Buicks are not so popular and there are almost no forums. It is a little bit difificult to get some information about this cars. so I have signed up here to get some information for restoration and tune up.
I am also interested in Motorbikes.

    Regards
    Klaus

    Hi Guys,

    Many thanks for welcome.

How you can see the left one is my 67 Riv, and the right one is my Girlfriends Baby: an 1967 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible. Both are in absolutely acceptable conditions.

At first I want to fix the Riv:

Replacing the front end suspension parts.
Other spring coils (-1" front, Stock heavy duty rear)
    Bilstein Shocks
    1 1/8" Sway bar front
mounting a sway bar rear (1")
    12:1 stearing gear

This will be the first shoot....and after then, we will see :D

I've got you covered on the steering box & can give advice & info on sway bars & how to mount them. I can also get the Bilstein shocks & the coil springs. Need measurements 1st. And QUALITY suspension components.
Got a U.S. address to ship to????

ALSO, I suggest you join the ROA. Riviera owners association. Best money you'll EVER spend!!!!! Just like this forum MUCH

    Hi all,

@Bad Boattail :no, the lowering of the front and the stock look of the rear, is not to do the car like the german style of the 80's, but I have the impression that the back of my riv is lower than the front. Due to the fact that I want to level the car in the equal position, I thought that this is the best option. I'm open for all constructive criticism. ;)

@telriv : Hi Tom, all parts I have found, are at some US dealers like Jamco; Never Enough Auto; OPGI; Rockauto and so on...but if I have more suppliers then I have a lot of shipping costs, the best way would be to get the parts from one dealer If it exits other possibilities please tell me :)
And the ideea with the RIVOWNERS.ORG is very good, but I do not find any link to get a membership. Maybe you can help.

Just go to the home page. I'm sure you'll find it.
I could be that one dealer.

    My father drove a 1966 Delta 88.

The 67 Riviera has a 3-link/track rod rear suspension...no need for the rear sway bar. Put some air bags in the rear coil springs to tighten up the ride. I put a set in mine, and changed out all suspension bushings with Energy Suspension polyurethane replacements. Bilsteins will also make a positive improvement in the ride.

    Hi Len,

Many thanks for your suggestion. That was the first ideea to put an air ride in the coil springs, but after reading a lot of threads and impresions I have decide to remain at the clasic suspension, only with coil springs and shocks.

Hi Klaus, welcome to the board! Very nice cars you and your girlfriend have. My name is Rick. Parts for those cars must be tough to come by in Germany and shipping probably costs a lot as well. If you are interested, I will be flying in to Frankfurt in late March. If there is anything that you buy here, I would be happy to bring it with me if possible. If you are interested, my email is gto65convt@gmail.com Just let me know, and if I can get it on the plane and you can wait until March, let me know.

    Hi Rick,
many thanks for the offer. I buy all parts in the US at different dealers. The price is often cheeper as at german cars but you are right the shipping costs are very high. But for this I ask the dealers about some dicounts and do, if the possibility exists, more orders in one shipping. Until now I have made very good experience.
What do you do in Germany?
    Regards
    Klaus
