Just thought I'd log on...have not been on here in far too long.

Need to do what Chris Reed did and pull it out of the garage. All I need is a battery charge and a little air in the tires. Buddy Josh has been on my case for a long time to put a new auxiliary fuel pump in for that tiny 175 shot of nitrous that Rick Crawford helped me with a few (many) years ago. And I've been wanting to go to a newer exhaust system. Maybe this year.

What motivated me to log on and get motivated to drive it was a former local coworker and father of one of my daughter's friends. He was "caught" by my wife on camera dropping his daughter off at school in nice '72 Skylark Custon 'vert; I had no idea he liked Buicks and he had no idea I did. I went to visit him tonight. I forgot how good unclean exhaust smelled...gotta make some of my own.

Well I'll be... It's Ramin Ansari!
Glad to hear your messing the Regal again.

Totaly forgot you had installed that Nitrous kit

Sounds like your a hop skip and a jump away from enjoying yours again,
Mine still needs those demon tweaks, but knocking them down one at a time.

It's great you decided to keep the Regal .

Yeah, I almost forgot about the nitrous too. Does nitrous go bad with age? Or is it like a fine wine...

    Which demon did you get?

Nitrous has a long shelf life.. decades some times, however the valving of the bottle"" maybe""" effected by moisture..

My demons ... high temps on my engine ( that's why I did the dual fan install ), the engine still "feels off", I know there's more. Going to revisit the timing, and get different plugs and 8mm plug wires.

Ok, by demon tweaks I thought you had replaced the carb with Demon Carburetion.

Do you have access to an infra red temp gun?

If the nitrous is more than a year old for the price of a new fill up its not worth takign a chance. I hear alot of people saying they empty out after the season but i alway keep it for early testing. Hook it up And have fun you will love the results if its right.

No access to a infra-red temp gun, wish I did.

I've read and re-read all the threads on high engine temps, and after your discovery of my advance not working and John Schmidt fixed it, I followed this info to the TEE on power timing, http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?63475-Power-Timing-your-Buick-V8&referrerid=589. now with that said I've ran accross some info indicating that my distbutor "may" be the culprit, mine is an HEI from 74 Buick 350, with the longer drive gear switched over from a 455, even tho I have a complete Pertronics Flame Thrower update kit in it, it is still curved and timed to a 350, so may have to do some timing ,springs and weight adjustments there, maybe restric the vacum advance.

Ready to come down and help me tackle this?:TU:

Maybe on my way to Cleveland this summer we can swing by for an hour or so.

On the temp thing, I was thinking a swing from 180 to 210 is not that noticeable to where you'd be like "man somethings just not gettin' it". I was thinking of the temp gun instead as a way to measure exhaust temp at the port/header primary just to rule out a cam lobe going away. You can do the same by looking at the valve train with the valve covers off and engine running, but that's messy and less elegant. Just something to check if the timing tweaks don't net you any gains.

I can't remember, heads never been off car, original stock cam?
