Yes, the Scrap Drive in Belvidere is a good one and getting bigger each year. There is another one in May at the same fairgrounds. It is called 'Little Hershey'. It used to be good but it's geared too much toward Model A era parts and it seems the guys still interested in those cars are getting few and far between. I only live 20 minutes from it and I don't even go anymore.

Jefferson, yes. I never miss a Jefferson or an Elkhorn swap. We have had the same swap spaces for years at Jefferson.

 

I need to look you up! Last Jefferson swap (6 years ago) I just had a knee scoped and was on a cane... for half and then home. It was a killer. When is Elkhorn? ws

Elkhorn is the first weekend of August at the Walworth Co. Fairgrounds.

There is a guy that comes to Jefferson every swap meet and rents out scooters if you need one. It's a big plus for those who still want to go to the swap meet but can't walk very good anymore. Almost wish I'd though of the idea.

 

Last time I was there they didnt allow any kind of Lil' Rascals or dogs for that matter. Its almost as big as Iola aint it? That one is getting to be too much. ws

 

Nice part about Jefferson is it's on level ground as opposed to Iola. Makes for easier walking.

 

I have not been to a swap meet in over a year. They never have much Buick stuff, but then again Jefferson is the only ones I have been to

 

True, I know the last time I went to Iola it was pouring rain so I didn't stay. I think that was close to 30 years ago

 

I will try too. I will get my son to help me post a picture. She is far from done , but I hope to have it on the road the summer of 2019

 

Summer isn't complete if you don't go to Wedl's a few times. The best burgers!

Man... IOLA in the Kettle Morraine was another killer in the hot August sun... we were hurtin' fer certain after that, then a three hour drive home. ws
