Low 6's. If you had them all run on a really good track the best of the best might be a really high 5. Prepped.
Entirely too dangerous on a prepped track let alone on a no prep track. On a no prep track it would be suicide. Once you make it into the 5's in the 1/8th running them out the back door just doesn't make any real sense, that last 660ft is just so hard on equipment, staying in boist or the spray for those other couple seconds is torture Keeping a stock bodied car on the ground at 180 mph is hard enough 220+ is exponentially tougher , a small percentage of enthusiasts could actually get a 5sec car down the track safely over and over let alone a 3sec car
I know my problem with the Street Outlaws. They are doing what they love , and banking money doing it. On an interview, Monza was asked if he was still installing garage doors. He laughed and replied, nope , too busy racing, spinning wrenches. Doc basically said I'm riding this out and trying to save as much earnings as he can. The Internet has Chiefs net worth around the 2 million dollar mark. You can bash the producers and some of the silly antics all ya want, but they are living the dream, at least thier dream. I stopped watching Outlaws and just watch NoPrepKings. Less bs more racing. The Outlaws are bringing thier NoPrep Kings to New England Dragway on May 24th and 25th , 2019 ( track released a "tentative" schedule ) and you can bet I will be there. Also the first STREETNIGHT of the year is only 38 days away! I dislike winter.....Jim
my 2 cents.......... any racing good or bad, is better than cnn news or . "token" tv show, yes, some parts are a little hokey, or stretching it, but ... its automotive related, and entertaining.
Ok, I wondered if that might be the case of the speeds and hard to handle the cars in the 1/4 if they are doing the 1/8th that fast. Aren't they still running 1/4 track at the GS Nationals? I guess they aren't running near those speeds. My brother in law runs 11's and 12's there, and I have a nephew that has run mid tens there a lot. How does that speed compare to what the street outlaws guys are running? I'm just asking you guys that race to get a better understanding, as I'm not a racer. I enjoy spirited driving and get that big old grin on my face when I get on the go pedal too. Just never done any actual racing. Thanks for the replies.
Them boys would be making the turn off on the return road while a 11sec car was just crossing the finish line TSO runs 1/8 mile at the GS Nationals as a handful of them guys are running high 4's now Anything faster than 8.90s In a full bodied car is sketchy
Daddy Dave was here in TN bout 5 ish years ago with the Sonoma. 1 of my best friends is in this here you tube video calling him out but Dave wouldn't run him. My friend had a 7 sec 1/4 mile Stang back then. This isn't my you tube channel by the way but someones who was filming at this time. If you are curious my channel is "buickdude69"
A 10 second car would just be passing the 330 ft mark when one of the fast guys crossed the finish line. The 10 second car has 3/4 of its run left when the other guy is done.
