I've been away from the forum for a while , been working on My 1970 455 . I spent the day yesterday getting my main bearing caps in place and was just getting the rear main seal squeezed down when catastrophe struck . The seal housing bound up , I see they changed design on later blocks anyways I didn't notice until the pop and the dang thing cracked . Now the crack runs between the oil seal and the main cast of the bearing block . I don't see it as being a catastrophic throw it away the bearing cap itself is fine the seal areas are fine .
What are your thought has anyone done this and run it
