need advice from someone who has put sbc into 68 skyspecifically what driveshaft mods are necessary? Gonna use p g with Shiftworks cable adapter etc. I have 2 piece stock shaft But know chev is needed
I just completed one for a customer, if you haven’t gotten your motor mounts, you can use frame mounts and motor mounts for a 69 Chevelle. Depending on your transmission you can use the same drive shaft however I had one made. I also used the same transmission brace with the Chevy transmission mount with the single stud. Are you using a floor or column shifter
I'm gonna utilize the buicks console that's presently controlling 2speed. ST 300. I've got chevrlle crossmember and same mounts ( Chevy). But intend to keep stock trarend (8.2)?. Tried to get someone else to do it. But they are backing out. Also I told them to shove input shaft bushing in for later conversion. To m- 21. Agaiñ nothing. Since my 69 gs went to pertronix the installer upgraded to 1 wire alternator. - myself I don't think hey can run on wimpy stock wiring but again I don't know so I asked other peeps. I told original Eng builder to put PG. as cost effective. So when he built 350 it pulled oil into ex ports and I had him remove heads for resurf exhaust seats + new springs and running 80'al quad. Man with egr shut off and sealed. I shoulda. Done it myself but I'm getting old.
I told a customer I had trouble with bottle jack+ he gave me one his father in law had give to him. My long block was delivered and I put it on stand. Now hunting down miscellaneous bolts and brackets from local guru. This guy been in it since 70's. Me too. Got plenty of everything but Buick. Gonna have to see if Transpro has completed selector shaft upgrade in AM.
