Just looking on e bay and saw this panel for sale. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/QUAR...032879663QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item350032879663 I'm having problems visualizing how this panel goes on. It looks to be the lower half of part of the rear quarter. Is it just me, or does anyone have some experience with this piece? Thanks a bunch for any help JD
JD- I spoke with a couple of people who purchased those patch panels. They are 'thinner gauge steel', are 'hand bent' and 'appear to be crudely made in someone's basement'. Plus, the seller charges a flat rate of $80 to ship (whether it's for a single or a pair) 'wrapped in a single layer of cardboard'. Buyer beware
John- no problem. Autobody Specialties in Middlefield, CT has 4 DS and 3 PS Tabco quarters. With tax one was $302. Don't know if they are close enough to you...
I'm looking to purchase 1/4 panel repair pieces. 68-69 Skylark, I made the mistake and bought one of those hand form pieces of **** from a local guy, sight un seen, my bad. It will become wall art now..... but anyway. How are the Tabco Panels? is the fit and contours decent? For a driver quality build? I'm a bodyman, so I kinda know how these after market panels are. Just need to know if Tabco is basically the only game in town, or are there others???? Thanks Darrell
Tabco's aren't terrible they are same gauge as factory, the lines aren't as crisp as OE, but the shape and fit are good. My experience is with the 70/72 tabco 1/4s
