    The 65GS 4 speed that my son-in-law and I picked up Christmas eve has a replacement block, we are not sure of the year or if it's a 401" or a 425" motor.

    Could someone decode these #s for us:

    7K1035616--this # is "stamped" on drivers side of block behind P/S pump.

    1186814----this is cast in between spark plugs on drivers side head.

    KW198------this is stamped on passenger side of block below A/C Compressor.

    Thanks in advance..............WE JUST GOTTA KNOW !!!!!!!!! :Do No: :TU: :Do No: :TU: :Do No:

    7K1035616 = 7-Riviera, K-1964, 1-Flint MI assembly plant, 035616 - car series # in the make.

    As stated correctly before, KW = 425 CI single 4bbl engine. No wonder it seems strong! :Brow:

    I would bet the last 3 numbers of the head casting # are 914, not 814.

    Happy Holidays - Cheryl :)
