Ive mounted an electric fuel pump just behind the center section of my rear axle.

I used two steel "arms" mounted to the trunk floor to get it low relative to the tank for fuel syphon.

I have isolated the two arms form the trunk floor with rubber.

The trunk floor still amplifies the fuel pump noise to an irritating level.

I am looking for suggestions from those with more experience than I have mounting fuel pumps back there.

I like the position behind the pumpkin and thus somewhat protected.

Is there a better place to put the pump? frame mount?

Whats the best way to isolate the noise?

what has worked for you? fuel pump.JPG

    Thanks for any insight.

Ken, is this vane type pump or geroter?I've had poor results in isolating noise from the vane pumps I've used. I now run a geroter design and it's the quietest pump I've had.Devon

Vane pump for sure. Summit 14psi 105GPH

Only thing I can think of is to remake the mounting bracket out of a material that "eats" more of the vibes.

And then to over-do the rubber isolators with some really soft rubber.

I was going to insulate the trunk and deaden it also. maybe that will help stop the "snare drum" effect of all that sheet metal.

Its not horribly loud, but it is loud. Very annoying after awhile is the biggest thing.

Mine is mounted to the frame on the right side just rear of the axle. Its still loud. Since its on the skylark I really don't care but if it was on the Riv id be looking for another solution.
