From this picture do you think this is s post car or a hardtop. And since I have your attention how hard would it be to find front and rear windshields for a 55 super?
A quick peruse through Ebay revealed that new windshields are available. Looks like they run around $400 and another $200 for the rubber seal. Plus the cost of installation. I don't know about you, but windshields and me don't get along. The back glass is also on there. $500 for the rear glass plus $260 for the gasket on that one. So you'll probably have around $2k in glass installed by the time the smoke clears
Technically known as a Super Riviera model 56R. Buick used "Riviera" as their name for the pillarless "hardtop". Olds used the term "Holiday" for their name for the same. It became common to call a pillarless vehicle a "hardtop" and the pillared vehicle a "sedan", though not technically correct as both had hardtops as opposed to softtops (ie: convertible).
So the "Riviera" designation only meant hdtp? I was under the impression the trim package was a step up also?
Auto city classics has glass for that car. They are in Isanti Minnesota. ill post a link when I find it... they have a distributor in Florida as well. I don't know where you are.
1955 Super had three body styles; 56C two door convertible 56R two door (pillarless) hardtop 52 four door sedan. The Roadmaster 76R shares the same glass and body panels as the Super 56R
