hello! Name is Ray and newly recent member to the Buick website and buick world. I recently have gotten to the point in my frame off project to install my hellwig kit was wondering if any other members used it or had any tips,or tricks fro. Their install? Any help or pointers greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!! Ray
cant help with your question .. but what you're planning with that hood hanging on the wall got my curiosity piqued
I box a lot of frames, but mostly using the factory convertible rails. One thing I like to do is prep the frame for any future routings of battery cables, braided fuel lines, etc. This can be fine by enlarging some openings that are already in the frame, and making access points ina few other spots. The 70-72 frames, you can rout battery or braided fuel from the back, all the way through the wheel arch,up to the front of the car, keeping it protected and out of harms way. Just something to think about. I also like to go over the whole frame and blend any welds, and remove any ugly slag. I have a frame that I just finished, and is at the powder-coater now.
Thanks for the info I am a quarter of the way done it's going slow but I'm taking my time Will post pics soon Thanks Ray
I looked at that kit and decided it was beyond my skill set. Went with ABC instead, easier install. Go slow, check your diagonals as you go and you should end up with a great foundation.
Finished kit a week ago super easy took my time and came out great Grinder welds all down nice and poor-15 the entire frame as well
