A guy just contacted me regarding my rebuilt 455 I'm selling, saying he was good with the price and was ready to buy it on PayPal. It's pretty easy to see this is a scam cause no one would buy an engine without looking at it first but still just remember there are people out there tryin to screw you.

When i get people trying to wire me money so their brother can pick it up, i tell them if they can't hand me cash in person, they can't buy it.

Guess Im the outside then, if he's willing to pay for it via paypal and he'll let you wait till it transfers from your paypal account to your bank account Id do it. I say that because I bought a car based on some pictures and paid via paypal right here on this site. Is it a board member? If not, has he given/spoken to you via phone? Just sayin, never know, just use your head when making decisions...

Who in their right mind would buy an engine sight unseen from someone with 3 posts is an even bigger question....

I bought a Skeeter bass boat from pics in new hampshire. got it to california and it was better then expected.
bought the gs400 from pics in oklahoma. worse than expected.
bought the skylark local here in california from pics, way better than expected.

It is certainly a roll of the dice.
just lucky I didn't have to become a bounty hunter.

The trailing arms I bought from a member here weren't even close
to "As described". We are currently working something out. only 60 bucks
    but still.
Sometimes you just have to

I don't understand. I think paypal is a good way to accept payment. You are sure to be paid b/4 product changes hands. NO?

Was selling a car hauler on CL. had it listed for months. Fielded many scam guys fishing for an easy score. One day I get a Txt that looks like many other fishing ones and Im rude and blow the guy off. He showed up and bought the thing. Made sure once he arrived and showed me the money I apologised and explained.

Also Pay pal is very safe as long as you dont send the money as a gift. Theres no recourse if you get stiffed unless its for goods or services.
