I am going to be installing TAs full lengh headers in my 65 skylark with a 455. Wondering what kind of problems to expect. Thanks

All kinds,...tube on pass side will probably lay on the frame, will need to move steering column over, engine has to be lifted pretty high then headers put in place, the knobs on the block may even interfere

12lives Control the controllable, let the rest go

You may find the old long tube Super Scavengers MTs fit better. May take awhile to find though!

I had the TA stage 1 headers in my 65 with 455. I had to do some grinding on the control arm mounts, and upper control arms, a few dings on the header tubes, Also had to put the headers in as i lowered the motor/tranny into the engine bay. They do fit just is a tight fit. I now am testing out some TA stage 2 headers (require stage 2 heads) they appear to fit without any modifications. However, I dont see a way to make the dip stick work with these headers. there is just no room.

You need to fabricate a bracket and attach it to one of the header bolts.

On my TA headers there is no way I see of making that happen. There is just no room to get anything in there. including the dipstick by itself. I have yet to see any pics of my headers/stage 2 heads/dipstick all working together

There really isn't anywhere else to put that tube, I'd be tempted to install a low level sensor in the pan and call it a day

With over $14K invested in this engine it will have a dipstick to check the oil. May need to think outside the box and make some oil pan modifications. I just dont accept the idea of running a street motor without a dipstick. With some fabrication to the oil pan there are several other places it can go.
