Do you have a regular Skylark with a 300, or a Gran Sport?

I can give some help if you have a 455 in your 65.

Yes it is a 455 in a regular skylark convertible. I do have the TA frame pads and motor mounts in it already. Set to the alternative holes in the frame pads.

With the stage 1 headers there will be some clearance you will need to do. and a small ding in a couple tubes. My steering shaft rubbed slightly. Also swap over to tubular upp er control arms to gain some clearance. The lower control arm Mounts will need to be ground on a bit also. It's really not as bad as it seems. IF it's an option stage 2 headers fit VERY nicely. Just need to figure out how to snake the oil dipstick thru them. I used chrome TA headers.

I swapped over to stage 2.

One more question B- rock. Did you have headers mounted on motor when you put it in or laying in the engine bay. Thanks

I wiggled the headers down as I installed the motor and trans. Not sure if it was the best but its how I did it.

Got the headers fitted over the weekend. Wasn't bad at all. Did grind a little off the upper control arm and ding the number 6 pipe to clear the frame on the passenger side. The driver side all i had to do was ding the 3 and 5 pipes slightly to clear the steering shaft then they went right in. They are now going to get coated so i can get it back together. Weather is getting nice and i want to drive it. I also installed UMI heavy duty rear and front sway bars. Cant wait to see how it handles. Thanks for the replies it helped knowing what to look for right away
