Looking for advice on head gasket choice I have a GM kit with intake head and valve cover. Head gaskets are metal both sides with composit between
Another GM kit with steel shim head gaskets
And some felpro blue head gaskets thought I would ask to see what others would use before top end goes on thanks

The block was decked 020 the heads cleaned up at 010 I think so Im guessing around 10:1

I like the Felpro 1125 "Professional" gaskets. They are .041 compressed. The steels are (I believe) .020-ish. You already took .020 off the deck so the thicker gaskets may help with intake alignment.

Are 0.020" steel shims available new? I think the pros would want the put the numbers in the DCC or dynamic compression calculator to decide. I would want the thinner one for the compression boost. Was the block decked to zero height?

I have a few sets of the GM metal with composite between which are .035 thick prior to being torqued. I have not checked them after being torqued. The single steel shim are .020 when crushed.

Why would you have to guess? Put your numbers into a calculator and know for sure what each gasket will get you.

You don't really have a choice with your cam. Run the steel and hope it comes out to 11.5:1 compression ratio by magic.

KB MK3H cam. 320*/320*, 106*LSA, +6* That's using the factory specs for advertised but he measured the .050" and it is in around +6* advanced. Also he's in Colorado which will make a BIG difference depending on altitude. Wait for that DCR. 87 octane no problem.

    I was going off 252/252 @050 on 106 LSA
