I am going to donate my Triple black GS 455 4 speed car to the local church, so father Pat can do the Lords work in style.

Well, I have in some way, thought about it. I suppose it would be all to appropriate to have my ashes painted on the floor-pans/frame/trunk. Everywhere really. Can't bear to part with the old girl, even in death. That being said...not sure after. Noone in my direct family will take care of her like I do, or appreciate the old girl.

Zero grandkids. 26 vehicles that are insured (I'm my own best customer) and tagged. Everything is under roof too.

LOL, Im not done yet tho!
I think the reason I keep them around is...
    I like having them
They're a canvas for me to Exercise my creativity for mechanical things.
They're my connection to my past, history, memories.
I love history and memories, but I move forward, SLOOOOOWLY.
Speaking of being creative, I made this up to get the algae strewn water from our pool, I drained it down last fall, but never covered it, and with the leaves and other crap, it made algae, and I was bound and determined to remove the green water before filling it up again.
Im thinking "I need a sump to broom this water into, then pump it out"
I used one of our older garbage cans, cut it, used zip ties to secure the ramp, put my pump inside, and broomed away, took awhile but worked great :D IMG_0568.JPG IMG_0569.JPG

Actually thought about this again yesterday while I was driving the Riv on another test run around the block ( made it back into the neighbor hood but not the driveway) My only son wants to be a car guy but ya either have the gift of wrench or ya dont, and he does not, Anyone can replace parts if they know which part is bad. Also at 29 he is not in a position to properly take care of it or has a place to store it ect. I considered some of my friends but they are as old as I am and if they succeeded me would be no better off than I was. If my wife out lives me then she would probably just sell them for what she could get and put the funds in the bank. I've told her several times that if something sudden and unexpected should happen to me to post it here and you all would probably give the bast advise.

We lived in Florida for 10 years and one of the happiest days of my life was watching the guy I hired fill it with dirt and level it out with the skid steer. Seems like all I ever did was clean that darn pool. After that I mowed it. Much easier :D

Running a close second for the happiest day of my life was moving back out of Florida.

My two boys are into cars BIG TIME so it's a no brainier on my part. I will be cremated & the instructions to the funeral home is to put the very fine ashes in a container & give them to my boys. I don't care what they do with the bones. They say it can't be done, BUT i would like them put into the coffins of my Mom & Dad. Their directions are to mix the ashes with water & run it through the engines.
I will now be a part of my cars FOREVER!!!! In my mind at this point only. What they end up doing with them is their decision.
At one time I owned six cemetery spots to be buried in my Riv. BUT I had to sell them because it wasn't allowed any more. One boy said he'd give me two weeks then he was gonna dig it up.

My wife and I both plan to cremated. Whoever goes first will hang onto the ashes until we're both gone and we want to be mixed together in the same urn. Obviously, after that we won't particularly care what happens to our ashes. Someone dusting us out the window of their car going down the dragstrip would be nice :)

3 cars 3 daughters one gets each one that's the plan . They can sell keep or whatever is best for their family at the time. I wont be around to bitch about what they did or how they treat them . Another reason I need to finish all 3 sooner vs later. Until then they are mine to play with.

My son has an interest in cars, and if did decide to keep the Wildcat he would probably gravitate towards it. He's only 10 right now, so there's still time. Since I'm looking to sell the 'Cat, I was going to plow the proceeds into something that we both could work on; - I know where there is this half-decent 59 Thunderturd that he likes and actually would be a nice car when done, and it might make a great father-son project.
I'm not too worried about what happens to the cars once I'm gone; I'm only bringing one into my retirement in a few years, and by the time I kick the pail it'll likely be worthless anyway. Nobody really likes or cares about Electras now, especially mid-sixties ones, I can't imagine there being a surge in their popularity in the coming years. The boy will likely end up with it to do with it as he sees fit.

My wife and never wanted a pool but as things would have it, the house we bought had one and we love it (as do our kids). I almost can't imagine not having one now. I used it more last year than the kids.

We can't imagine why anyone lives in FL - Too hot/humid. We both hate the heat and have determined the key to a happy marriage isn't to like the same things but to hate the same things.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Gayle & I have a trust. One of my younger Friends owns an automotive shop and is a very honest guy. He and my wife's youngest Son are executors of the trust. If any of the kids wants anything, they have to buy it for an agreed price with the executors. The money goes into the trust and when all is sold and executors paid, it gets divided equally among them. That way seems most fair.
As far as I go, I will be cremated. Many of my Friends drag race. I have made arrangements, with them, to each put just a teaspoon of my ashes in their parachutes and make some side-by-side passes at US 131 (Martin, MI) Dragway, pulling the laundry in the traps. If my '70 Camaro is done, one of them will drive it then.

    Damn right!
"We should get a pool for the kids" the wife said.
"I don't want a pool and the maintenance" I said.
"We always had a pool when I was growing up" she said
" My family didn't, we had the lawn sprinkler to run thru" I said
I gave in and we started with the Easy Set inflatable pool, first a small one, that I set up AND took down MYSELF:mad:
Then a medium size one...…… same scenario.
Finally this one, same deal, "Hunny, I know all about pool maintenance" she said
Several thousands later, we have an above ground, who takes care of it...….. ME:confused:
I do enjoy it, but I look at it as a large vessel of water in our back yard that needs to be kept clean, Im the care taker of a vessel of water:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I believe that's why my underware doesn't get bunched up when I get a stone chip or any blemish on either my GS or GN.
    They cant stay immaculate forever.
Parts wear, paint looses its luster, fasteners loosen, you do what you can, like a doctor fixing up an older patient.
Im fully capable of redoing both the GS and my GN, but Im not going to, nor do I want to.
My GN's bumper fillers have started splitting last year, BOOM just like that, will I fix 'em? Eh I don't know.
I bumped the right side of the front bumper of the GN on the garage opening, got a bit of transfer, white on black " OMG, my first senior damage, LOLOL, eh, whatever"
I barely grazed the right quarter of the GN on the GS engine on the stand in the garage, hardly perceptible, I MAY have PDR (paintless dent repair) fix that one, MAYBE, but Im not obsessing over it.
Oh, I gotta put the new sump pump in, and finish pulling weeds today, then measure and decide what kinda rocks for the landscaping in the front yard, I wonder how many tons of rocks Im gonna have to move and arrange
Gotta prune the one tree too:D

We moved to Florida after spending about 70 years in Massachusetts. I'm not crazy about the politics of Florida, but I love the weather and our 32,000 gallon pool. As the pool is in a Lanai not many leaves and needles get into it, and maintenance is minimal. I try to swim every day. I swam yesterday afternoon during a downpour (I'm getting wet anyway, so the rain doesn't make any difference).
If I never see another snowflake in person I will be OK with that, but the real reason that we left the Bay State was the five-figure real estate tax.

It often appears that politics and taxes go hand in hand. Georgia is a low tax state but a lot of newly transplanted snowflakes want to change the politics without realizing taxes will go up to pay for it.

Wow, interesting thread and interesting responses.

I believe I will fall into the "What's it worth and where's the money" category when I die. My wife has always considered my car(s) the other woman in our relationship. I've tried to get her to go to car shows, cruise-ins with the lure of lunch or dinner but it is a 98% no response. Both cars are pretty streetable and not the wild car I used to have when we were dating. The big block will do some damage but if you keep your foot out of it, it could be a (thirsty) daily driver.

I have one daughter that I tried to teach to drive stick. No interest. She threw the tool kit I put in her car out because she needed the room before leaving for a summer job 1,500 miles away. I wanted her to learn to change a tire and my wife said she didn't have to. Socialist mommy ruined my little girl that used to play paintball.

My wife would unplug me from life-support and have an ad up for the cars before the heart monitor flat-lined. She hates my Buicks and is always saying I should sell them and to get rid of all that junk in the garage. Some days!

I guess I've always been lucky in the aspect. My wife loves the cars almost as much as I do. She loves going to cruise nights and to the dragstrip. We don't do many cars shows and even if we do I rarely spend much time sitting around the car. I'd rather go walking around looking at all the other cars. And I'm not so much a brand loyal person, I like them all. Chevy, Ford, Mopar, or a `37 Cord, it doesn't matter to me. My wife is the same way.
