Same for me until I moved up here from Missouri a couple years back. The adults will stand in the road and challenge an approaching car with their quills.
Yeah, game cams are fun. I keep some around the house to see what's hanging around. Every day I get pictures of opossums, skunks, squirrels, rabbits, cats, foxes, coyotes, and deer.... lots and lots of deer. Waiting to see something cool like a bear or some yahoo looking to thieve. Weird how many wild critters hang around the house at night.
...mammals get rabies. Not implying porc has rabies, but I don't let wild things set up housekeeping that close...
Coolest thing I’ve had so far is a bobcat and a blurry pic of an eastern coyote. I’m curious to see here in a few days what the baited footage brings. I’m in bear country but they're are all hibernating now.
I merely look out the door of the shop. Today there were TWELVE deer within 100 feet of the shop. They know that they are safe, but will still spook if I make loud noises or move suddenly; but like I said they know they are safe on MY property. If they go down the road and cross the road off my property, my neighbor WILL kill them in season...
Yea, it's amazing... just shows you how innocent they are. Thank you, you are my 100th subscriber. I have promised my viewers a hike up to the base of the mountain on my property. My neighbor tells me there are remnants of an old settlement there that I am going to check out.
