    I'll guess 17.07 at 77 mph.

    As long as there's a good tail wind and calm water. No choppy waves!:eek::eek:

    Not sure where you got that weight from but it looks like its close to the 230 6 banger model, not the one I have.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    1965 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe 283 V-8 Turbo-Fire Powerglide (aut. 2) specs

    https://www.automobile-catalog.com/...full-size_impala_3gen_hardtop_coupe/1965.html

    And that doesn't include the around 450 lbs of angle iron and plate a previous owner welded into "fix" the frame! And a 700R4 weighs around 60 lbs more than a powerglide. Also those are dry weights so ad another couple hundred lbs for fluids and oils(washer, trans, power steering, engine and rear end), coolant and fuel.:p

    Well just about, it has a "reman" engine that more than likely used the jobber "8:1" pistons and if the deck wasn't milled to .020" under written blueprint spec of 10.187" to 10.167". Which more than likely they skipped that to maximize profits so the compression is more than likely around 7.2 to 7.6:1 at the most.:eek: Depending on what year replacement block you have the deck height can be up to an extra .060" taller.:mad:(dam bean counters!)

    The 2.73;1 is better than a 2.56:1 rear but not that much more, about 6% more anyway, not much to get that weight moving.

    Here's what we're looking at;

    Buick Century GS Collonade Hardtop Coupe 350-2 V-8 (man. 3) , model year 1973, version for North America U.S. (up to September)
    • manufactured by Buick in USA
    • 2-door coupe body type
    • RWD (rear-wheel drive), manual 3-speed gearbox
    • characteristic dimensions: outside length: 5352 mm / 210.7 in, width: 2007 mm / 79 in, wheelbase: 2845 mm / 112 in
    • reference weights: estimated curb weight: 1770 kg / 3900 lbs
    • how fast is this car ? top speed: 177 km/h (110 mph) (©theoretical);
    https://www.automobile-catalog.com/make/buick/century_regal_2gen/century_2gen_gs/1973.html

    Weights are usually listed as dry weight to try to make the car look like it weighs less than it does, so add a couple hundred to the above weight.

    So maybe with Steve's tuning he'll get it to 17.8 in the QM? Not so sure about the MPH though?

    Didn't run the info through a calculator, you asked for guesses, that was my guess.:cool:

    16.88 @ 82 mph if your a good tuner like I have read:)

    Not to get off track but I had a 84 Bonneville "the Regal style body" with a 305 Chevy that spun the peg leg pretty good, but it was 4 barrel..

    Even with your data the model I have the curb weight is 3700 lbs, so the site I referenced must of been curb weight because both are within 1 lb of each other.

    But none of that matters because I had the car weighed and it weighs what is in my sig!:p

    I wasn't the one that made it heavier.:rolleyes:

    But eventually I will make it lighter, when I have the time to work on it. I have a brand new used solid frame to swap in that will get rid of the extra heavy Franken frame.

    Steve, what kind of ignition do you have in your '73? If you swapped in electronic then my guess will be 16.90 @ 78 mph.

    When I swapped in an electronic ignition distributor in the Impala when it still had the sbc 283 in it picked up almost an extra second.:eek:

    I'll take 16.9 @ 80. My 73 Stage 1/Air car weighs about 4300 or so, so I wouldnt be surprised if you're close depending on option load. Cant wait to see it!

    Pertronix with blaster coil. If you picked up 1 second then your points were shot. Or maybe the new dist had a better curve.

    I had new points in it but didn't recurve it so maybe that's why or because it was the original cast iron distributor and the weight savings made it go faster?:D

    I also got about 3 MPG better fuel economy with the distributor swap as well.:)

    Well here is my prediction if the event gets to run. Friday looks like a washout if the weatherman has his way.

    16.1 @ 88mph
