Guess I put the car away before I really ever drove it.

Went to the tvmadeez.com site and adjusted the tv cable for sh*** and giggles. Wanted to se if it improved anything. It did seem to help. Still don't think the transmission is right though. Thanks for the site TexasT. In a weird twist, might step son is now working at a transmission shop. Maybe he will be able to do something for me. Thanks again guys and maybe you'll see the car at Frankenmuth if anyone decides to go.

Do you have a gn governor in it? I put a monte ss one in mine and had to shave it down to get the shift points right.

Actually the transmission is from a LeSabre, and I was told it had been rebuilt before I got it. But, I seriously doubt that it was. When and if I rebuild it, I will use better than stock parts. My car is mostly stock, so it isn't high horse or anything like that.

It might be an easy and inexpensive thing to check. Hoping you have a drain plug. I followed post 15 in this thread to modify the governor and I think it really helped. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=176591

I just used a cut off wheel and trimmed down until I got to the numbers specified. I also pulled the spring out of the bigger weight as I'm told they weren't used in the gn governors. It's a pain if you don't have a drain plug installed, but you can install one for a few bucks after you pull it the first time.

I would save and filter your trans fluid , that ****s getting ridicouls , 5 something a quart. I would luv to see some one build a 200th r4 on the floor , There are a few special tools you need , especially on the 200 if you dont want the shaft falling out the rear.

My build and how I got around those pesky special tools. I did buy a low/rev puller/installer but I am told it can be done without. For $20 or so I didn't want to wrastle with it. Hit ebay, they show up all the time.

OP, glad you got some use out of the suggestion. I think you need bigger boost, rev boost valves and a 100 spring to get the pressure up. I also think while you have the pump out it needs a hardened stator support and a hard pair of rings and a stiffer slide spring. A "694" servo from the brf tr trans will also help or if you have more budget I like the sonnax servo of the aftermarket ones though there are cheaper ones.

I'm no guru but I am pleased with my overhaul, and more than willing to help.

It was also recommended to me that the sun shell be upgraded. I saw what mine looked like before it was rebuilt. It was almost smooth.

I agree with the sun shell upgrade but that is much deeper in the trans. If we are just pulling the pump I'd just do what I posted above. If we are going full disassembly there are a bunch more cheap/free mods that can be incorporated. Just have to know em.
