6 advertised, 8 (or 9) colors produced. Willowmist was not one of the ones advertised nor discovered. Vinyl tops were technically a no-no, but have known to have happened. There are ways to tell without paperwork, but I would not pay GSX money for a non-documented car. No way to prove without paperwork of some kind. If it's from near you that's not too far (2-3 hours) from me. I could come up and try to look things over and give you my opinion.
There was a girl named Vicki I think in a mag or bop printing that had a vinyl top gsx? Anybody remember it 71 I think gregg
My 70 GS 455 became a tribute GSX in 1979. My friend at the time also had one that was cloned in 1978
You would need a something to measure the tension rods as they are not much bigger than regular rods. Highly unlikely, but if they knew what they were doing, they could have actually been swapped. Is there more pictures of the car?? Also I thought the GSX 's had low body numbers on the cowl tags..
just got off the phone with the a friend who took pic. he said it looks doctored. And other than some hardware the car is shot. when I looked at it back in the 90s it wasn't that bad lol
To high of a body number, wrong color, build date of the fifth week, eighth month. Sounds like an early built 71 model. 1972 was the only year you could get any color GSX.
Would the body number be that large if it were a late August build in in 1970 beginning the 71 build numbers? I guess I need to look at mine. This would be a week before mine. I would like to see the vin, should be between 0-2000 sequence.
Yeah, I just looked at my 09A body number 014505, which makes sense that this car being an 08E with 012075 body#. Definitely a very early 71...
