Hello all. I started on the GSX Sunday that I bought from Wheelz a few months ago. My goal is to have it done a few months before the reunion so I have enough time to work out any bugs. My plans are, to drive it from Maryland to Ohio and make a few passes down the 1/4 mile. As of right now I have the body rough stripped and the motor goes out to the machine shop next week. I'm hoping by next week to have the body in epoxy. Then I'll start on the suspension. Wish me luck...

    Jay,

Looks like you are well underway! I am looking forward to seeing this project move forward and watching your progress. Please keep posting pictures and progress updates.

For those who don't know.... this was my car in High School in Tampa Florida. I owned it back in '82 and sold it in '87. Will be nice to finally see it done "right!!" :TU:

    Keep up the good work!

Here are some new pics.NOS quarter panels were installed nicely especially for the 80's I saw alot of factory quarters get chopped up.The only thing I had to do is rework the sail panel seams I used fiberglass matt and resin and there are a few small dings I have to fix. I sprayed epoxy down to give a barirer between the metal and any body filler that I have to work. My next step is to sand the epoxy and to start doing body filler work over small dings and small dents once thats done then I'll spray the car with polyster spray fill. I hope to get the motor to the machine shop within the next week. Thanks for keeping a check.

These are the exterior paint color codes from the cowl tag. The 70 GSX was only available in 2 colors; QQ = Saturn Yellow, 10/10 = Apollo White.

Hey, Jonn (Csordas) and Jay Bird, how far apart were your build numbers for GSX's 585 & 586? Were they close to each other ... maybe on the same day?

Please register the car with the GSX registry and I will send you a packet. Hope it goes well and we get to see it at the Reunion.
