I have a 70 GS 455 which makes 500 HP at the flywheel.
Suspension is all stock.2800 stall with 3:73 gear and 275 60 BFG drag radials. Will this combo hook at the track?I would like to run mid to low 11s.What shocks and springs should I run?
    Thanks in advance.

    Bfg?

Your HP is right for high to mid 11's at about 3800 lbs race ready. You won't get there with BFG radials. I hear from a fast Turbo guy that Mickey Thompson street radials hookup like slicks.

Springs and shocks?? I run stock springs with 50/50 rear shocks and air bags so the tires don't blow out the quarter panels. 60 foot times 1.62 sec 1/4 mile 11:80 @ 114 MPH on racing slicks. weight 3900 plus. 480 HP last dyno run.

Oh! Stiffen your lower trailing arms (weld a plate of steel to cover the channel) and rebush both all upper and lower arms with poly bushing.

Get the M/T's!! Trust me, they hook a kazillion times better than the BFG's. In fact, they hook my car better than running on slicks! Switching to M/T's is one thing you will NEVER regret. Hmmmm....M/T should be paying me!

Renee- What PSI are you running the M/T's at the track. I dropped mine (28x12.5x15) to 14 PSI and was still spinning a bit and other guys at the track said the track was pretty good.

Also are you running any suspension mods? I have the south lower control arms and re-enforced uppers, and drag shocks front/rear.

    Thanks- Jim Moore

Jim...I'm running around 21-22 PSI in my M/T. I found that they hook better on my car with higher air pressure. I have boxed lower control arms and upper control arms are stock. Moroso trick springs w/air bags and competition engineering drag shocks front/rear. My car loves it.
