After being a silent reader for a couple of weeks I would like now to take the opportunity and to introduce myself.
My name is Ralf and I am from Germany. You might wonder about the nick I have chosen. Guess what, Skylark was already taken :). At least I stayed within the same platform.
Kidding aside, I used to live in Michigan for almost 9 years, working in Automotive. Back then I owned a 71 Skylark Custom convertible (350/2bbl), which I sold prior to my return to Germany. Now I decided to look for a nice convertible and have it shipped to Germany. My first choice is a GS 455 (also considering a well done (craftsmanship) clone / tribute. Honestly with one eye I am also checking out the other side of the street (Oldsmobile) as I am somewhat hung up on getting a 455 and as vehicles w/ 455s are rare.
I will post later on in "cars wanted", hoping to find someone here, whose garage is getting to small, or at least to get a lead.
    Thanks for reading, Ralf

Yes that was my plate for the Skylark. I really loved to have personalized plates in Michigan for my rides. My 2005 Kawasaki Z1000 for example had "Z1K" as plate.
Here in Germany it almost takes an act of god to get a license plate with a nice letter/number combination and the appropriate size. The happier I am that it worked out for me the way it did.

Welcome Ralf from west Michigan. Nice ride. Country of origin is Germany, or U.S. transplant? You've come to the right place to get help locating a Buick................and/or any parts/advice needed. Bunch of great people here.

Thanks, I had the car shipped to Germany this year, unfortunately that took almost all summer long. Wallypep who is member here as well, created this gem about 9 years ago.
