    chryco63 14's or bust!

Well, it's been close to 2 weeks now, but I graduated with my Bachelor of Theology on May 2nd. I did a 4 year program in 5 years (taking 2 part-time years to sort out some personal issues), but it was well worth it.

Not to blow my own horn, but I feel like I've learned a lifetime of Biblical knowledge from these past several years. My teachers are wise, wise men, and not only are they incredibly intellectual and analytical, they also taught all of their classes with love for both God's word and us, as students. They have a love for Christ's church, for evangelism, for healthy church leadership, for spiritual and emotional healing, for sound doctrine, etc. This has certainly been one of the best experiences of my life to be with these men day in and day out.

In the fall, I am moving to Montreal for a couple of years to train with a well-respected minister and church up there. While my degree gave me the academic knowledge, I still feel I need a good amount of practical training before I commit myself to full-time ministry. I won't be able to touch my LeSabre for a while, perhaps even longer than I plan to be up there (God has funny ways, indeed), but I know, in view of eternity, it's the best thing I can do with myself right now. Maybe, through God's grace, mid-15s will be considered fast when I eventually bring the LeSabre out of hibernation. Nevertheless, in the meantime, I'm serving with JAMA Racing Ministries for the summer in conjunction with the Ontario Street Car Association race series up here in Ontario. So, that should be an exciting mix -- ministry and racing!

I thank Dan (Floydsbuick) for wanting to celebrate this with me! Dan has done and continues to do a lot of personal and academic study with his church over the past few years, and he is a great asset to God's work! I also thank God for bringing me to this point in my life, for blessing me with the gifts he's given me, and for my salvation!

And thank-you Jim Weise for allowing us to keep this forum, so I can share news like this with my Christian family!!

    God bless, all! :TU:

See....I couldn't have typed all that. I am excited for you as you begin Ministry! Thanks for the kind words, but I've been slacking lately. That mess in Feb had me sit out a semester. I need to get with it already!

Anyway, I wanted you to post this so we could offer some prayers for you as you step up your service to the Lord, which will be my prayer today!

Awesome news Glen!!!! Congrats on the graduation. You need to step it up a bit though. If you have GOD's Grace...Why not ask for 14's instead??? lol

Though I won't get to walk, my graduation is today (May 15)! MDiv from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I started in 1993 so I can certainly understand your relief at being through.

Blessings on you as you begin your ministry. Where did you study? I've got a friend who lives in Montreal - he's a fellow Christian and a car nut. If you want his contact info, shoot me a PM and I'll get you two in touch.

    Again, congrats!

Thanks, guys! :) Thank you for your prayers -- I know I'll need them.

Dan, I look forward to hearing what studies you pursue next. Keep me/us updated!

Pat -- you're right. LOL. Hopefully it'll work like this: the prayers go up, and the ETs come down!

David, do you mean to say that you started your MDiv in '93, or you've simply been in seminary that long? Either way, congratulations to you, too, on your graduation! That's no small task! Thank you for your prayers, and God's blessings to you, as well, as you embark on your ministry!

I studied at Great Lakes Bible College, a small Church of Christ school here in Southern Ontario. I'm undecided on whether I'll pursue graduate level work yet, but if I do, McMaster Theological Seminary -- a Baptist school itself -- up here in Hamilton, Ontario is on my list of serious considerations.

I would like very much to get in touch with your friend in Montreal! I'll send you a PM momentarily.

Thanks again, guys, and God bless! :TU:
