Hello, been out of Buick's for quite a few years and looking to buy a 70 GS car. I found one. Looked up the vin it's all correct with first 5 (44637) numbers, but then I'm stumped and hope that someone wiser knows. I know it should be a 0 for 1970 and a letter for the plant. This one has FL1 there. So help me out please

If its a 70 GS hardtop made in flint, the VIN should read 446370H******

You're looking at the Fisher Data Plate, not the VIN Plate. Look at the base of the windshield, drivers side, and let us know what it says....

Anyone know where all the VIN numbers are on a 64 skylark? I know on the motor and drivers door location. Anywhere else? thanks

Like already said above, you are looking at the information on the Body Number Plate in the engine bay:

Not sure about the 64's, but on later model years the VIN was also stamped in the chassis.
Somewhere under the boot, on the driver's side (LHD version) of the car, you have to lift the body to find it.

The VIN and the body number on the Trim Tag will be different.

Cant see the frame area yet, but says under body trim also. Anyone know where under the body trim? thanks

I looked at the frame in those locations and can't see a number, it may be that it is too rusty. If so is there a way to draw out those numbers with some kind of solvent? Still don't know for sure if this is where the hidden VIN info is on a 64 skylark. May start another thread to see if anyone knows for sure where they are.

It may have been different back in 64?
