The suspension area of my car is the one area I have completely been overlooking since I have had it. The car only has 90,000 miles. What would be something that may be wise to change as far as maintenance? What would be a good upgrade? What would you recommend as a good performance modification? My pockets aren't super deep, but I would like to do something that has the most value as far as what will make the most noticeable difference and improve my overall enjoyment of the car. Sway bars, shocks, whatever, tell me what you think.

Replace the bushings( front and back), tie rods, idler arm, centerlink, ball joints and perhaps springs and shocks. After 90K are likely worn.

I second what Jim says and add the following:

    4 new gas shocks
1.25" front anti-sway bar from a 70-81 Trans Am with polyurethane bushings and end link kit
Box lower arms and add a rear anti-sway bar

I'll third/second what was said. You'll be surprized at the improvement stock parts will give you when new... let alone the better stuff.

Don't forget a quick ratio steering box out of a GN.

    Whoo-ahh!

I agree with everyone else. I just wanted to say the sway bars make a huge differance with handling especially with the addition of a rear sway bar. I bought mine from Hotchkis. Moog is another good place to by the bushings from.
    Good luck!

How do you like the Hotchkis parts? I'm looking at redoing the entire suspension on my 1969 GS using their stuff.

    Thanks

I like the Hotchkis parts a lot!
They are nice looking, very high quality, and the performance is great.
Plus they do have a name for themselves. People always think it's cool that you have Hotchkis parts on your car.

Does anyone know anything about the Jeg's rear control arms. :Do No: They seem to be a good deal, but you can't help but wonder about the quality and fit of such inexpensive parts.

Anyone have any first hand knowledge???

    .....second hand Knowledge???

I am really considering a set of their adjustable rear control arms.
