does anyone remember BO's line osama's dead gm's alive? nice to know your tax dollars funded mex chicoms jobs,,I will take back the non internet age anytime ,if you get hungry and need a place to sleep, thank the banks and the DC/corporate swamp animals, money wins over us citizens on every corporate decision, grew up in a gm town and 90% drove gm because they could buy gm,,henry ford gave his workers a raise so they could buy the cars the workers built. gee what a hi-tech idea....this country still has 2 parts ,the haves and the forgotten americans, gee I wonder how many ivy league think tanks there are working 24/7 to take more money out of usa citizen pockets???this fee that fee , ever wonder y dealer doc fees have gone up 300% or more just to buy a truck /car/suv.the auto industry is so cut throat it makes me sick, but this also apply,s to almost every us industry.they say the us econ. is great ,but the gap of the 2 america worlds grows each day ,,very sad, glad I grew up in the 60's, a time of no massive auto recalls, no food industry recalls,no gmo foods,no oversea foods creeping into your supermarket, cars and home appliance items were built to last, still have my sears /kenmore washer from 1987 working today, usa mfg,I know the 60's had uncle ho ,and who is this guy charlie we are looking for? JFK,MLK,RFK assassinations and race relations that do mirror our country in some ways 50 plus years ago,all generations have their good /bad days.enough rant thanks to all for letting me vent, that feels a little better, have a great day to ALL!!!!!

well said. I feel the same anger on a lot of these same issues. this country is all about Hooray for me and screw you. the CEO of Verizon is a multi millionaire but the union workers are loosing their pensions. when my Verizon contract expires, instead of getting a new free phone in return for renewing my cell phone contract, now I get to pay Verizon a $30.00 fee for the privilege of agreeing to keep paying them over $200.00 per month for the next two years, plus they charge me $800.00 for the new phone. wow, boggles my mind..... Its the complete dumbing down of America. God Help us all.

    Hey Steve,

Not sure anyone's showed you, but you know you can hit the "edit" button on your own posts and add to them instead of a string of 1 liners, right? Makes things much easier to read and less cluttered. (Not trying to be a smart*ss, just really trying to help.)

For the most part, Detroit has in modern times equated inexpensive with cheap. I find this strange, because the two most successful automobiles of all time (Model T and type 1 VW) were quality inexpensive cars that made their manufacturers billions of dollars. Lesson not learned.

Gosh, I never knew it was politically incorrect for a company to maximize profit.

    Who knew?

I think I understand the point.....How would we know what is profitable if it has not been tried.....even though the last time it was tried proved the point. I'm not buying a new ANYTHING because it is ALL expensive junk regulated to death by agencies that know more than the manufacturer. We are even starting to see lawsuits on air bags designed 20 years ago and other car company nightmares that are driven by greed and deception. A cheap car like you are talking about is likely a thing of the past because everything has to be priced with the recall, legal fees, and other factors too numerous to mention. We did it to ourselves by continuing to buy the only options that we had.....The car is the new poor mans biggest liability.

There are cars, right now, that are as cheap as they have ever been, adjusted for inflation...and nobody wants to buy them. That is why plants are cutting production. ANYONE can buy a Ford Focus, built in Michigan, for $14K that gets 40 mpg, has PW/PL, and AC....I'm sure GM has an equivalent also....nobody wants them. Great value and the companies cannot give them away....
