Patriarch & Founder of the Woods Brothers Team passed away today @ 93. He & his 2 Brothers founded the Team, The oldest in NASCAR & is credited with the modern Pit Stop format. I can't remember the exact quote, but it went something like, If You can't out run them, You can makeup time on the Stops, & that proved correct.
Sad I had the privilege of meeting them at Michigan speedway in the early 80s. The pit crew rode in a buss from race to race and when we figured out who was stuck in traffic behind us I got out of the car and walked back to knock on the door. Gracious and humble guys. Real class act.
