I must say that I'm really surprised that Bart is attempting to sell it. But he's had it for a long time so I guess he's ready to move on. Plus he's got a few other cars to keep him busy. My guess is "reserve not met" because Bart is not crazy or rich, so he's not going to risk the low prices that Buicks seem to be bringing these days at auctions and give the car away.

The car is optioned very nicely: original code 75 red car with black top and interior, Stage 1, 4-speed, buckets, console, PDB, PS, AC, PW, PL, P-seat, tilt, AM/FM, California emissions, Rallye Ride Suspension, custom seat belts, speed alert speedo, remote mirror, door edge guards, floor mats front and rear, light package, rallye wheels, rallye gauges with clock, & rim blow steering wheel. The only options that are not as built by Buick are that the "rim-blow" steering wheel was replaced by a rally wheel, 14" rally wheels with G70 billboard tires replaced by 15" wheels with G60s, and the original 24-hour clock has been replaced with a tach. Sold new at Hamilton Buick on Van Nuys Blvd, in Van Nuys California. If my memory is correct, it was built in October of '69. It was a really solid car before being restored and was never a rust bucket.

I sure would like to have this one myself. Think it would look good with 2 cars seats in the rear?

Saw it @ BG years ago. One of the two finest 1970 Stage 1 car's I've ever seen in a restored state. Just beautiful. Too nice for car seats or the road.

Here are some better photos of the car. I think my dad finished the restoration in 1996, then it was brought back in 2005 for him to clean up and freshen the engine compartment so it could be taken to the GS Nats. This consisted of repainting the engine, replacing some faded plating (brake booster, etc) new repro battery, looks of cleaning, and correct some other small items. The car still has incorrect air cleaner foams (too tall) and incorrect radiator (a correct '70 4-speed radiator could not be found at that that time). The body is painted with lacquer that my dad sprayed back in '94 or '95 and it has held up well because the owner took good care of the car (climate control). The owner did drive the car on nice days and did not even own a truck or trailer. It's not perfect but looks great for a restoration that is over 15 years old and I'd be proud to have it in my garage. Probably not many '70 Stage 1s that are factory optioned like

Oh and if it were mine, I'd definitely put the 2 baby seats in the rear so my boys could ride along.

Yes 460 charged hours. And I think at that time my dad was only charging $25/hr for labor so the owner got a great deal on that restoration. One thing that helped make the restoration so quick was that it was a complete, running & driving car with zero rust and require no panels to be cut, welded, or replaced.

Boy I'll say! sign me up! Car still looks very nice in person . Especially for a 15 year old restoration. I never got to meet the owner.

    Do
The owner, Bart B, lives down in Valdosta, GA. He's a very nice guy and has taken very good care of the car, which is why even at 15 years old, the car is still very presentable. He did drive the car but only on nice days.

Do the math, 460 hours at $25/hr, even in the mid-90's that was a cheap restoration.

I think Bart did good to get $66k for that car. He got to have a lot of fun with it for a long time and still made a good profit on the car, so I bet he is happy with the sale.
