Generic 1157 socket that fits into a 1965 Buick Special/Skylark parking light?

Dear V-8 Buick mid-60s parts experts,

*Sniff*, . . . my trusty 1965 Buick Special wagon has become very rude. The rear lights are working perfectly. However, neither turning signal is lighting up in the front. Worse, the driver's side parking light won't come on. Moreover, the bulb socket on the driver's side will not displace back enough so I can remove the bulb.

Sure looks like time for me to remove both housings and restore them. The passenger side housing looks fine, but the driver's side has suffered from a bad gasket and needs to be repainted. All this would be very easy . . . . if . . . . I could replace the bulb sockets.

Cruising around the Internet, the problem isn't a lack of choices, but - way - too many of them! Would anybody have already found a generic 1157 socket that can be popped into the 1965 parking light housing?

Thanks in advance for any leads! :TU:

    Can't argue with success . . . . (Re: Generic 1157 socket)

Dear Yuk and V-8 Buick electricians,

Well, . . . . . I wish I could, but it is really hard to photograph without removing it from the car. In the meantime, Chris of "Damn Good Auto Parts", provided a much "more better" way to solve this problem:

It certainly looks simple enough so I'll give that a try. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for the offer of help though! :TU:
