What would be the ideal gear ratio for me. I am running a Buick 350 and 200-4r tranny. This car will mainly be used for cruising, and some occasional racing :Brow: . I was thinking about 3.42 gears, but I wasn't sure b/c I don't know much about this part of a car.
Ideal... With the 200r4 transmission your options are great. You can go low on the gears and still have great low end and top end power. With a Buick 350 I would recommend a 3.93 gear or even 3.73 anything higher and you'll loose your bottom end with the 350. (That depends on how much you have in the engine for power to.) If you got 450hp then go with a higher gear but if its around 350hp go with a 3.73 or lower but not lower than a 4.11. Just some ideas for ya. I hope they help. Good Luck. Mike
