I was out measuring a job today and and after about an hour of walking around this garage with a cottage on top I went inside the garage to do a material count on what was onsite and what was still needed. As I walked in I looked to my left and thought to myself WOW I've never seen one of these in real life before! The cars exterior is in pristine shape, the interior is pretty good for being original.

LEAGAL DISCLAIMER: I did ask the owner permission to look at, take pics of and share to my "friends" on my site his car. Permission was granted and his personal carpenter was left to supervise the "viewing" of the vehicle

He was no longer around after said pic were taken to get any further info on the car. If I get the job and go back to the site I will inquire about the cars history and if it's for sale or not. It really is a beautiful big old boat!

    Nice car but......

If I was the owner of that car and found out a contractor had taken pictures of my car without my knowledge that was in an enclosed area, not only of the outside, but had the nerve to open up the door and take pictures of the inside the car and then post it on the internet would not be getting any of my business. Are you going to take pictures of the wife's jewelry sitting on the dresser and post that also?

I would have waited until you talked to the owner and said "nice car, can I take some pictures to show my friends?" Then let the owner decide if he wanted his car posted for the world to see.

A little harsh, but I do agree.

Ok let me clear this up real quick before I get strung up and put out to the wolves. The owner was there when I first seen the car he's the one who unlocked the door to the garage to let me in. I proceeded to tell him I am also a Buick owner and lover of all the buicks and that I belong to a Buick site/club. I told him that the guys on my site would love to see this car as you don't see many of them. I asked him if I could take some pics of it to show the guys on my site and he said sure. He said he had some errands to do and left. So with him gone I could no longer ask for any further information. If you look closely at the top left corner of pic#4 you can see his personal carpenter/framers head, he was sitting having lunch so it's not like I was "left alone". I didn't bother writing all this info as I didn't see it as important or about the car at all. Now that I see you guys just think I'm some disrespectful contractor I'll be sure to write a full disclaimer before writing anyother posts. That is also why there is no engine pics, I didn't want to pop the hood without him there.

I'm not sure how to blurr it out on the pics?? I'm not really tech savvy. I'm definitely not one of those guys that's why it bothered me when I was portrayed as one. I reread my initial post and I can see how I mislead the readers with how I worded it. I didn't think anyone would actually dissect it that much? I was just excited to share this with my Buick brother's and didn't think I would be tried and executed verbally over it and it kinda took the excitement out of it now. I know what you mean about misuse of vehicles when I was in my late teens I had a summer job working with a contractor building bunkies on islands up in the cottage country. One guy didn't want to pay to use the barge to bring materials over to the island to build his bunky and instructed us to use his brand new 16' seadoo speedster boat:eek:. Well it sure didn't look new anymore after the job was done. No matter how careful we were things (lumber) would slide around bumping in the waves. After the job was done he just said "time to trade it in for a new one" all the while laughing about it. I guess things like that don't matter to some people who have money?

Thanks for the explanation, you may have thought it wasn't key information but some of us who have experienced "wanderers" on your property when they doing a job think of the worst right away.

Nice Buick. I'd like to hear the story about it, when you get a chance to talk to the owner, as well.

Just an update I was outbid on the job so unfortunately I wont be going back to collect any additional info on the car. I am however grateful that I was able to see it in person, it's truly a beautiful big ol' boat!
