:Do No: OK Heres we go - My brother your average homeowner ,2 kids ,mini van , does'nt know much about cars , wants to buy a investment/ fun car ! He had the TA in high school and wants another !:Dou: I told him check Buick for a GS! l am looking for some input here. I would say a automatic , 350 or 455, a/c original as possible .What year to aim for and the cost. I'm on here all the time but i have the big ole boat. Thx !!:TU: :TU:

My suggestion, every GS is cool!!! Print out a few pictures of each year, and let him flip through them (65-74) and see what he likes. Once we know that and a price range (what is he lookin to spend?) we can probably track something down. 455s are more fun, but the 350s aren't bad either!!! (enjoy driving my 350 a lot). Everyone has their own taste, so I couldn't tell you what he would like. I think that the '70-72 are most popular, but there are many people who prefer the other years (I think the 66s and 67s are beautiful cars, along with the 68-69 and 73s). Tell us what he wants, and we will see what can be found :TU:

By the way, I would tell him to plan on spending 5 large for a decent drivable example of any year, give or take $1000. If he wants a project that is one thing, if he isn't mechanicly inclined and wants a very well taken care of car, he might spend closer to 10k. Just my opinion, this all depends on the car he decides on.

    GS

Thanx Chris- I just emailed him. It needs to be a nice gs with no major work needed. I would say 10k would be ok ! It's his $ so we'll see what he says. The t/a's he shows me are around there. I 'd say a 70- 72 is kool ! Thx Bruce:rolleyes: :eek2:

In that case, tell him to log on here sometime and cruise through the "member's rides" section of the board. He'll see all kinds of interesting cars there, and then he can decide on color, options etc.

Even better, tell him to logon here and post a thread asking why a GS is better than a T/A. That should fire up some real interesting discussion!
