Hello my real name is Luis I have been a member on this board with another name and another email which I cannot remember so I had to re-register..... in 2004 I purchased a 1964 Buick Riviera with a 425 nailhead matching numbers it was supposed to be a retirement gift for myself when I got out of the Marine Corps. I sent it to Arizona with my dad and needless to say it's just been sitting there for 8 years I know that the gas is probably gone so next week I'm driving from California to Tucson Arizona and I want to drop the tank and change out the fuel lines and get her back running as she was when I purchased her the thing is I do not know how few system Matrix meaning I don't know if it has an electronic fuel pump or mechanical fuel pump and I know I need to change the fuel pump because it's been sitting in that dirty gas for eight years can someone tell me what type of fuel pump I need to get her back on the road..... she was running so good when I got her transmission shifting everything really smooth the only thing was it was lacking power my father looked under the hood and saw that it was running a 2 barrel carburetor He suggests I get a full Barrel but it makes no sense unless I figure out what type of fuel delivery system is needed mechanical or electric I'm trying to stay all original here my father doesn't know if it's electric or mechanical I really want to get her back on the road like she was when I purchased her can somebody please give advice thank you......

The original fuel pump would have been mechanical. Mounted on the right side of the engine towards the front attached to the timing case cover. The original carb. would be an AFB one yr. only for '64 with the correct hook-up for the downshift.
